Trujillo Commits to Upper Iowa University
Vikings Sophomore catcher Adrian Trujillo has announced his commitment to further his student-athlete career at NCAA Division II Upper Iowa University.
Adrian saw majority of the time behind the plate his freshman year (2017) earning all Western State Conference honors. An injury sidelined Trujillo in 2018, but Adrian has returned stronger than ever and will lead the team behind the plate this season. On top of being one of the catchers for this year's team, Adrian was also selected as a captain and leads by example on and off the field. He serves as a mentor to the underclassman and will do anything for the team.
Upper Iowa University is part of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, which boast some of the best NCAA Division II Baseball in the country. Lead by head coach Jeremy Ische, Upper Iowa continues to gain strength and looks to move up the ranks in DII baseball.
"We are so happy for Adrian. He is the epitome of who we are as a baseball program. He is a leader in every way from the classroom to the field, in the weight room and off the field. He is a guy that I love to go to battle with, knowing he will give everything he has for the team and his teammates. He has earned this opportunity and he will do great." --Coach Walker
