Vikings move past Glendale
The Barstow Men's basketball team beat conference foe Glendale 95-91 in Western State Conference play. The Vikings improved to 5-2 in conference play one game behind Citrus College.
The Vikings led the entire way. Glendale cut the lead to as little as 2 with under 3 minutes to go but the Vikings controlled the game throughout. Sophomore Christian Drayton's in lane forced the Vaqueros to settle for outside shots the entire game. Drayton, who has signed to continue his caree at Chamanade (Hawaii), lead the Vikings in rebounding, blocked shots and contested countelss drives into the paint.
Vikings coach Gerry Wright said after the game, "We got the W, it wasn't our best performanec of the year but we made plays when we needed it. My guys are hungry, they have to learn how to bring it every night."
The Vikings have three conference games remaining including what could be a conference championship match-up with current conference leader Citrus. Citrus beat the Vikings 103-90 on Januray 28th.
