Softball makes 6 game home stand!
Vikings Softball has begun - Ladies play 6 at home first week!
The Vikings softball team kicked off the 2016 home schedule Wednesday Feb 3rd with a pair losses to Mount San Jacinto. On Friday Feb. 5th - the Vikings rebounded with two very competitive games vs Imperial Valley, although they came up short - the team demonstrated a great deal of growth and improvement. On Saturday Feb. 6th the much improved Vikings dominated visiting Compton Community College 10-2 in a five inning mercy rule victory in game 1 and then continued the success with a 20-2 mercy rule win in game 2. Barstow High School graduated Alexis York pitched a 3 hitter striking out 3 batters in the game 2 win - she also scored 4 runs offensively and knocked in an RBI. Hesperia's Erika Lyons went 3-3 in game 2 with 3 runs scored. In game 1 Canada's Amelia McCaffrey pitched a one hitter while striking out five batters. Catalina Smith from Las Vegas went 2-3 with an RBI and a run scored. The Vikings play next at San Diego Mesa - game times are 12:00 and 2:00 PM on Wednesday 2/10/16.
