MINOT, N.D. – Minot State University softball signed Barstow Community College outfielder Marissa Dado, Beavers head coach Bill Triplett announced Monday.
Dado, from Barstow, Calif., was named Foothills Conference Player of the Year in 2016 after batting .444 at the plate with 56 hits, 36 runs batted in and 45 runs scored. She was also named Barstow Community College's Female Athlete of the Year, her team's Most Valuable Player and First-Team All-Foothills Conference.
"We are excited to have Marissa joining our team this fall," Triplett said. "She is a winner, a very good athlete and an all-around player. She will give us depth in the outfield and more speed on our team."
Prior to her outstanding career at Barstow Community College, she helped Barstow High School to three conference titles in four years and was a four-time all-conference performer as a prep.
Dado's signing brings Minot State's 2016 recruiting class to eight student-athletes as she joins incoming juniors Melissa Estrada and Tori Zimmermann and incoming freshmen Skyla Neubauer, Jordan Branch, Rachael Huber, Jordyn Hope and Emma Casey.
