Crossley paces Barstow success
Freshman contributes on the mound and at the plate
BARSTOW - Freshman Maggie Crossley has adjusted well to life in California.
Crossley has paced the Vikings at the plate and on the mound early this season. Crossley, a native of Vancouver, Canada, leads the Vikings in runs scored with 10 through the first six games. She has a .529 batting average and has anchored the No. 2 spot in the order.
She also threw a complete game in the circle beating Cerro Coso, 10-1. Her ERA is 2.33 and has only walked four batters in 12 innings. Crossley plays right field when she's not pitching and can also play first base.
"She has great bat control and she works very hard," said coach Tim Syrek. "I really like the fact she is coachable and puts her teammates first."
Barstow is back in action on Friday on the road at Cerro Coso.
