Vikings split on the road
OXNARD - The Barstow softball split two games on the road with Oxnard, losing 11-3 and then winning 12-5.
In the first game, Barstow opened the first inning with run scored by Melissa Galindo. The Condors plated eight runs in the first inning to grab the lead.
Lindsey Crane pitched the first four innings, and then Julianna Montona finished the last two innings on the mound. Cheyenne Porcella had a triple and Annemarie Hernandez added two RBI.
In the second game, Melissa Galindo fired a complete game to earn the win. She also led the offense with three hits. Alysia Sanchez had three RBI and Alyssa Avalos scored a pair of runs.
"We were like two different ends of the spectrum on Saturday," said coach Tim Syrek. "We played very well in the second game and were just sluggish in the first game. I am proud of the way we bounced back, but frustrated with how we started the day."
