Baseball Splits With Porterville

The Barstow Community College Vikings Baseball team split a pair of games with Porterville this week - both games ending with a final 4-2 score.  On Thursday in our home opener - the visiting Pirates jumped out early with 3 earned runs in the 1st inning.  The Vikings offense was never able catch up as they left lead off runners stranded in the 7th and bases loaded in the 8th.  On Tuesday it was the Vikings who won 4-2 behind a stellar complete game pitching performance by sophomore Ace Nick Winkler.  Nicholas Winkler from Colorado stranded 8 hits while striking out 5 batters in a complete 9 inning victory.  The Vikings play next at home Saturday February 12th vs San Diego City College - game start time is 1:00 PM
