Vikings power to conference win

BARSTOW - Barstow scored early and often on Thursday.

The Vikings scored six runs in the first inning and two more in the second to build a an 8-0. Barstow continued to add on the runs en route to a 14-4 win over Victor Valley.

Lindsey Crane pitched a complete game with five strikeouts.

Inayalena Paopao cranked out her first collegiate home run and Alyssa Avalos had a three run double to pace the offense. Cheyenne Porcella had three hits and Crane added two hits. Envy Arroyo and Alysia Sanchez each had RBI hits. Daisha Mitchell scored three runs.

"I was pleased with our at bats and the approach at the plate," said coach Tim Syrek. "We executed on the bases and worked some quality bunts in. We were a bit shaky on defense with three errors and we need to fix that."

Barsow will host College of the Desert on Wednesday with a 2:30 p.m. start time.

The Vikings are now 6-6-1 on the season.
