Ramiro Martinez #45(2014-2016) Ramiro grew up in a rural Spain, with an usual love for basketball in a country fanatical about soccer. With no one to really teach him the game, he ordered an instructional basketball video from the United States that taught him the basic fundamentals of shooting a basketball. Although the rest of his game was completely raw, his ability to shoot the ball caught the eye of Coach Wright. Ramiro was the first international player that Coach Wright recruited and the long shot paid off. BCC VIKINGKane Keil #11(2015-2017) When Kane was recruited to play for BCC he was what coaches call a “tweener” - a player stuck between two positions. He was a little of this and a little of that, but not enough of either. Although this was too unsettling for most college coaches, Coach Wright knew the first time he saw Kane play, he had found a diamond in the rough. Coach Wright spent the next two years converting Kane into a hybrid forward. He improved his quickness, explosiveness and cardiovascular conditioning. Sent him to a nutritionist to help him change his diet and shed his excess weight. With Kane’s new and improved diet, strength training and conditioning regimen, he dropped 30 pounds, added some muscles, improved his vertical leap and dropped down to a stealth, explosive 215 pounds. In exchange for all of his work, he became a sought after player by both division 1 and division 2 coaches. Kane was nightmare to defend; too quick for power forwards and too big and strong for small forwards. After flying to Hawaii for a recruiting visit, Kane was offered a full athletic scholarship to Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii. Kane was selected in the 2020 draft of the NBL (National Basketball League of New Zealand - Top Division) by the Otago Nuggets.
